Monieux – a pretty medieval village located at the entry of the Nesque canyon – has an altitude of 650 metres.
It is extremely pleasant to stroll through its paved lanes lined with picturesque XVIIth and XVIIIth century houses, the Saint-Pierre XIIth century Church (Romanesque choirstalls and XIIth century cupola), vestiges of medieval ramparts, millers door, oratories, plague wall, watch tower, vestiges of XIIth century chapels, Saint-Roch chapel, arts and crafts.
A discovery by foot or by bike in the Nesque gorges is worth the trip or a break time around the lake where you can picnic and also fish. Playground for children.
