Méthamis, an authentic village of Provence

Methamis

Built on a rocky spur, Méthamis overlooks the wild gorges of the Nesque from an altitude of 380 metres.

Coming out of the village, the remains of the Plague Wall, a dry stone wall built to protect Provence from the plague that erupted in 1720.

During summer, the votive festivities and the pistou soup, served outside on the very beautiful church square, will enliven your evening.

In May, the transhumance festival celebrates a tradition still fix in the region.

A typical village of Provence, Méthamis offers a very pleasant stroll around its religious heritage: The Saint Pierre and Saint Paul churches, the Virgin Mary in wood covered of gold, the recently refurbished Sainte Foy Chapel, built in the fifteenth century and located in the Bastides hamlet.

A very special atmosphere is to be found here: a charming escapade to discover year round.
