Villes-sur-Auzon, door of entry to the Nesque canyon

Eglise

Villes–sur-Auzon is nested in a valley at the foot of Mont Ventoux and at the entrance of the Nesque canyon. The village was formerly encircled by fortifications, which explains its circular shape. The Great door and the vestiges of old stone walls are the only remains of this medieval past.

The facade of the church carries the unusual inscription of “Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité” at the basis of its tympanum and of “République Française” on either side of the portal.

Agriculture has always been the major activity of the village. After wheat and rubia, the productive land now produces cherries and Ventoux wines, red, white and rosé.

Grenache, black and white, Syrah, Viognier, Carignan are all characteristic of the terroir. Push the doors to have a chat and taste with passionate professionals. The coop also offers a vast array of wine tourism activities that will allow you to discover the specificities of the landscape which make these wines inseparable from their region of origin, riding your bicycle, on a horse-drawn carriage, or by foot.
